WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY – HOLEY LAND WMA, FL
This photography is of two Black necked Stilts taken at Holey Land Wildlife Management Area on Okeechobee Road (US27) between Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The gear used in this photo of the birds was a Nikon D90 with a Tamron 28-300mm lens. Note the high ISO.
If you look closely at the Black-necked Stilt on the lower left. Notice of the two birds that this bird is missing its right leg, more than likely due to a skirmish with a hungry alligator, of which there are plenty!
Great work Alan.
So pretty and good composure.

Alan, i’ve been enjoying looking at your photos. This particular one of the black-necked stilts is a great inspiration to me. I’ve never had the chance to see one in person. Have a great day!
