L-28 Levee White-tail Deer

"White tail Deer at the L-28 Levee in Florida Everglades"

L-28 INTERCEPTOR LEVEE, COLLIER COUNTY, FL

This is a photograph of a white-tail deer taken at the L-28 Interceptor Levee in Florida. This young male white-tail deer was captured using a Nikon D90 attached to a Tamron 28-300mm lens and Tamron 2x teleconverter. Though this not my best shot, one has to realize that I was in a moving vehicle on rough ground, and shooting across to the other side of the L-28 Interceptor Levee which was quite a distance (at least 30 yards or more).

The woods to both sides of the L-28 Levee  make it a terrific wildlife viewing area, though there are quite a few Eastern Diamondback rattlers there, so be alert and careful.

White-tail Deer are quite common  in the woods along this levee, as are feral hogs, and an occasional black bear and Florida panther (endangered species). Birding and fishing experiences can be found here.
