Night of the Iguana

"Feral Iguana at Night in Florida"

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY – ENCHANTED FOREST PARK, FL

This is a photograph of a feral Iguana taken at night at Enchanted Forest Park in North Miami, Florida. The Iguana was photographed using a Nikon D90 camera body, a Tamron 28-300mm lens at 120mm focal length, and a flashlight with a piece of plastic over the lens to diffuse it.  At different times of the year, these feral Iguanas are quite common in this beautiful park located in a large city. These feral Iguanas are easily approachable using the step and stop technique. They do seem to be more reactive to up and down movement so usually I approach in a squat position, which is horrible on my knees, but doesn’t startle these reptiles as much.
