Iguana

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY – ENCHANTED FOREST PARK, FL

This photograph of a feral Iguana was taken at Enchanted Forest Park in North Miami, Florida. Although not native to Florida, Iguanas have been released to the wild by people who have had them as pets. Due to a similar climate and habitat, these Iguanas have flourished. While these Iguanas are usually shades of green in color, during mating season, they exhibit colors such as green, blue, red and orange. The photo gear used for this subject was a Nikon D90 camera body to which a Tamron 28-300mm lens was attached.

That iguana is really quite dragon-like – amazing creature.

I know someone with a pet iguana, and from what she says, I’m not surprised people release them into the wild.
